| 5 | Immortal Nature's Ageless Harmony | The Botanical Lantern Slides of William Copeland McCalla | Glass lantern slides were developed in 1849 to be projected onto a wall or screen so that photographic images could be viewed by a larger audience. McCalla photographed the images for his black and white glass lantern slides which he then hand-coloured. The exhibit showcases a selection of McCalla's images from the Provincial Archives of Alberta's collection. |
